How do top students study?

How do top students study? This is something I have learned recently and has proved to be really useful. There are times when we all feel sleepy while studying and it becomes hard to concentrate. I recently moved to IIT Gandhinagar and was facing similar situation while trying to concentrate. But I saw my fellow mates to go hours without losing concentration and above all not feeling sleepy. So I tried to decipher what was that they were doing differently! The thing that I saw was that they carried a  water bottle  to the library and whenever they felt loss in concentration they took a sip which allowed them to get back to the rhythm. I tested it myself and found out how useful this habit is. Drinking water after small intervals not only gives you little break after a session of studying but also hydrates your body which in turn boosts your performance.
